Rutgers-Newark Launches IDRIS

Rutgers-Newark has launched the Institute for Data, Research and Innovation Science (IDRIS), an effort that explores how AI and other technologies can improve healthcare, education, public safety, and other aspects of community well-being. IDRIS examines how AI data is gathered, incorporated, and applied. It focuses on ethical questions surrounding AI and how it can be used to advance equity and overcome challenges in urban communities. 

Kenvue Collaborates with Microsoft

Kenvue Inc. has announced a five-year collaboration with Microsoft which aims to transform digital operations through advanced AI technologies.Over the next five years, Kenvue will scale its use of Microsoft Azure to capitalize on its wide range of services including data analytics and AI. The integration of Azure services is expected to enhance predictive capabilities and human-machine collaboration.

Okibo Launches EG7 Robot

Okibo, a company that specializes in construction robotics, has opened its US headquarters in Englewood, and has launched its EG7 robot in the American market. After establishing its US base in 2024, Okibo’s fully autonomous, AI-guided painting and drywall finishing robots are already active on major American construction sites, having covered more than one million square feet in Europe.

Biomarker Testing Covered

A new New Jersey law requires state-regulated health insurers to cover biomarker testing. Biomarker testing analyzes an individual’s unique biological indicators to provide insights into their health status or risk of certain diseases. Biomarkers can inform certain treatment plans, making this form of testing a critical step to applying precision medicine and targeted therapies.
