New Innovation Center in Camden
The New Jersey Economic Development Authority (NJEDA) and the Coriell Institute for Medical Research have announced a new Strategic Innovation Center (SIC) in Camden to support biomedical research and innovation. The innovation center will be equipped with state-of-the-art incubator and laboratory spaces for emerging biotech companies. The project is expected to create approximately 150 new permanent jobs, plus 100 construction jobs.
Novel Spinal Stimulator
The Tim and Caroline Reynolds Center for Spinal Stimulation at Kessler Foundation has become the first medical center in New Jersey to implant a spinal cord epidural stimulator in an individual with paralysis, marking a significant advancement in spinal cord injury treatment and rehabilitation. The procedure, combined with intensive training, has the potential to improve individuals’ motor and autonomic function.
NJIT Launches AI Microcredential
New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) will offer an AI Literacy Microcredential that provides foundational knowledge and skills in order to succeed in the AI era. Launching in spring 2025 through NJIT’s Learning and Development Initiative (LDI), the microcredential features 10 non-credit two-hour courses and will be available free of charge to all NJIT students – regardless of level and major – and to the general public for a fee.

North Brunswick-based LinusBio, a leader in precision exposome medicine, announces ClearStrand-ASD™, a first-of-its-kind diagnostic aid for autism spectrum disorder (ASD). ClearStrand-ASD is a biochemical test that identifies a molecular signature predictive of autism in a strand of hair. It is designed to help physicians rule out the condition in children between one and 36 months of age when autism is a concern.
