Profiles in Success: New Jersey Business Action Center

The New Jersey Business Action Center (NJBAC) serves as the state’s primary liaison to the business community, providing resources, services, and information to support businesses at every stage of their development. Whether a business is just starting or seeking expansion, NJBAC offers critical services, including business registration, financial programs, regulatory compliance, property selection, and workforce training. NJBAC’s mission is to make New Jersey a favorable environment for business by removing barriers, simplifying processes, and offering direct assistance tailored to individual business needs.

NJBAC has several offices dedicated to a specific area of business support. The Small Business Office focuses on helping entrepreneurs and small business owners overcome challenges and capitalize on opportunities, offering essential guidance and tools for obtaining certifications, securing financing, and more. The Office of Business Advocacy provides personalized support with government incentive programs, complex projects, and grant compliance. The Export Promotion Office assists businesses in exploring new markets by providing expertise and access to international trade opportunities, such as the NJSTEP grant, which facilitates expanding business operations internationally. Additionally, the Office of State Planning collaborates with municipalities and developers on redevelopment projects, coordinating with relevant government agencies to streamline processes and secure necessary approvals.

NJBAC operates a Business Help Line that offers one-on-one support for small business issues, including minority business certifications, licensing, and disaster recovery resources, and recently created a Small Business Manual designed to help entrepreneurs in the state create and expand their businesses.
