bergenPAC Marks 20th Anniversary with Diana Ross Performance

The Bergen Performing Arts Center (bergenPAC) in Englewood recently marked its 20th anniversary with a performance by the legendary Diana Ross. The centers Anniversary Gala honored several distinguished individuals, including Aleta and Rich Taylor, frontline healthcare workers from Hackensack Meridian Health, CEO Robert C. Garrett of Hackensack Meridian Health, and Emmy Award-winning broadcast journalist Lori Stokes.

Robert C. Garrett emphasized the crucial role of the arts, especially in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic, stating, “We need the arts more than ever. Music is a healing force for our families and team members.”

Lori Stokes, serving as the Honorary Trustee, expressed her emotions about bergenPAC’s unique contributions to the community. “There is no other theater in the world that offers what bergenPAC does and what it accomplishes for the community,” she stated, highlighting the center’s essential role in enriching lives through the performing arts and using her daughter and mother as examples.

The evening’s festivities were emceed by Nina Pineda, a reporter from WABC 7-NY Eyewitness News.

“This gathering exemplified the community’s united spirit in celebrating two decades of bergenPAC’s commitment to providing world-class entertainment while positively impacting the lives of thousands of residents of all ages, through its Performing Arts School and various outreach initiatives, bergenPAC has nurtured talent and fostered a culture of equity” said bergenPAC Founder and former Englewood Mayor Frank Huttle.
