Flatt Elected President of the New Jersey Golf Foundation

The New Jersey Golf Foundation (NJGF), the (501c3) charitable arm of the New Jersey Section, PGA of America (NJPGA), has announced that PGA of America Golf Professional Tom Flatt, director of Golf at Edgewood Country Club in River Vale, has been elected as its new president.

PGA Member Chris Dymek, head golf professional at Manasquan River Golf Club in Brielle, NJ assumes the role of vice president of the NJ Golf Foundation, while new additions to the Board of Trustees include PGA Members Rylee Plitz, PGA/LPGA head golf professional at Eagle Ridge Golf Club (Lakewood); Mike Sargenti, head golf professional at Forest Hill Field Club (Bloomfield) and Tyler Teynor, head golf professional at Metedeconk National Golf Club (Jackson Twp.). Additionally, Sean Marikakis, partner, KPMG and Dave West, partner, Centerview Capital, will serve as Independent Board Members.

The NJ Golf Foundation was created in 2004 with a mission to positively impact lives and communities through the game of golf. Led by PGA of America Golf Professionals, and with a focus on three core pillars: youth, military, and special needs, the NJGF delivers a line-up of programming that provides individuals from all backgrounds with access to the game of golf in a welcoming environment.

“We are thrilled to have Tom Flatt, Chris Dymek and our new Board members assume leadership roles at the NJ Golf Foundation,” said Chris Hunt, executive director, NJ Golf Foundation. “They all bring a deep passion for the game of golf and a strong commitment to expanding access for individuals from all backgrounds. Their experience and vision will help strengthen our programs and partnerships, and further our mission.”

Hunt added, “We extend our deepest gratitude to outgoing President Mike Attara, the 2025 NJPGA Golf Professional of the Year, who will remain engaged as a Board member. Mike is passionate about player development, and his leadership was instrumental, as our programming continues to make a meaningful impact in communities across the state.”

Featured programming includes PGA HOPE (Helping Our Patriots Everywhere) a rehabilitative golf program for military Veterans living with PTSD and TBI; Special Olympics New Jersey Golf; Els For Autism; PGA Jr. League, Golf in Schools and the New Jersey Heroes Tour, created specifically for Active Military, Veterans and First Responders. Additionally, the NJGF operates the Inspiration Golf Range on the campus of the VA Medical Center in Lyons, NJ. The facility, which is open to the public, serves as homesite for NJGF player development programs, with proceeds from the range supporting future player development programming.
