The Wildwoods’ Doo Wop Museum Recognized as One of the Best

The Wildwoods’ Doo Wop Experience Museum was voted among the nation’s Best Pop Culture Museums in USA Today’s 2026 10Best Readers’ Choice Travel Awards. The museum’s inclusion on the list marks the fourth consecutive year that it has earned recognition in the national contest, placing in the top 10 in the country on this year’s list.

According to the Greater Wildwoods Tourism Improvement and Development Authority (GWTIDA), the Wildwoods offer the largest collection of mid-20th century architecture in the country. The history of the Wildwoods is strongly linked to this era of American pop culture and has been preserved within the walls of the Doo Wop Experience Museum.

“We are deeply grateful to everyone who has supported the Doo Wop Experience Museum with their votes for the fourth year in a row. The museum’s distinctive collection of mid-century vintage signs, furniture, and other one-of-a-kind artifacts continues to showcase the unique history and architecture of the Wildwoods, all under one roof,” explained John Donio, president, Doo Wop Preservation League.

Pulsating neon signs and authentic mid-century artifacts are all housed in the museum, inviting visitors to step into the past. In addition to the history inside, the Doo Wop Experience Museum also offers Back to the ’50s Neon Night and Mid-Century Architecture Tours throughout the summer, giving guests a guided tour of the impressive display of mid-century architecture on the island today.
