The Greater Wildwoods Tourism Improvement and Development Authority (GWTIDA) has received a 2025 New Jersey Tourism Excellence Award from the New Jersey Tourism Industry Association (NJTIA) in the category of Marketing.
GWTIDA was bestowed the honor for their highly effective campaign built around the theme ‘Welcome to the Wildwoods’, showcasing the destination as warm, inclusive, and full of experiences for every type of traveler.
Centered on the iconic Wildwoods sign and brought to life through diverse, story-driven creative, the campaign strengthened the brand while reflecting the island’s vibrant spirit. With over 50 million impressions across all platforms, nearly 7 million video completions, and a 28% increase in website users with 292 thousand website clicks, the campaign successfully expanded the Wildwoods’ reach and reinforced its appeal as a beloved multi-generational destination.
“Our campaign celebrated the variety of experiences the Wildwoods offers, emphasizing that there’s something for every age, every interest, and every kind of traveler. By showcasing this diversity through both visuals and storytelling, we reinforced the brand promise that we want to welcome everyone to the Wildwoods,” explained Ben Rose, GWTIDA Marketing & Public Relations Director.
The campaign was anchored by the iconic Wildwoods sign, a symbol instantly recognizable to visitors and locals alike. By featuring it prominently across creative assets, the campaign was distinctly ownable, unmistakably tied to the Wildwoods brand, and immediately evoked a sense of place and welcome.
The NJTIA Tourism Excellence Awards entries are judged by a panel comprised of university marketing professors from throughout the state of New Jersey. The award was presented to the Wildwoods at the Annual New Jersey Conference on Tourism Luncheon on Wednesday, December 10 at the Golden Nugget Hotel, Casino & Marina in Atlantic City.
