In every hospital across our state, the winds around us are swirling – reimbursement pressures, workforce strain, new technology reshaping how we work, political flashpoints and a churn of regulations, policies and executive orders.
Yet for our healthcare community, a few fundamental truths do not change: We care for all who come through our doors, and we create opportunities for all who choose to serve. For NJHA and its 400 members across the continuum of care, that is who we are.
In this special section, we explore a sampling of key metrics that illustrate the impressive strengths of New Jersey’s hospitals – including a skilled workforce (162,000-people strong) and tops-in-the-nation healthcare quality. And we don’t shy away from our challenges, including billions in healthcare funding cuts and a population that is growing older and sicker.
While we may chart these shifts using numbers and metrics, our healthcare community meets them with something far more powerful: resilience that never wavers, and a commitment that never rests.
